Heavenly Father, Generation by generation, your Word was passed down and continues to be passed down today. Thank you for providing us with your Word, which sometimes seems ancient but, is relevant for us today, filled with life, and comes alive within us through Holy Spirit. Thank you for teaching, discipling, and disciplining us through your Word. By Holy Spirit, may your Word work deep within our souls transforming us and purifying us that we may grow in radiating your light and love. May our lives bring glory and honor to you. Give us courage to proclaim and receive your Word, when the text confronts and challenges us and when the text comforts and consoles us. Please surround and protect all your sons and daughters who proclaim the Good News each day, that they may be filled with boldness, hold fast to the Truth, and share your compassion with all people. Please protect all men and women who hear your Word from being led astray by deceiving spirits who seek to divert people from their faith and trust in You and strive to redirect their faith and trust into what the world offers. Thank you for the opportunity to hear, receive, and bear witness to your Word. In Jesus’ name through power of Holy Spirit we pray. Amen.
